Back when the high proof beer bill passed, we asked you to vote on the first one we brew. The winner was a Double IPA, now it’s ready to go and we’re having a launch party to celebrate!
Join us Thursday, June 17 from 5pm-7pm at the brewpub for the launch party. We’ll have 1 free sample per customer, then it’s $4 pints, $11.50 pitchers, or $10 growler fill. Now to the mighty beer description…
The Double Down IPA has the bite of a vampire and the heart of a werewolf. This doubly intense IPA will be an onslaught to your senses. It starts with an extreme hop nose derived from copious amount of hops with a 22 pound blend of Cascade, Amarillo, Simcoe, and Chinook. Double Down is an epic battle between caramel malt flavors and intense hop love. You don’t have to choose, you can love them both by taking a drink. This ale is 8.5% abv. Caution: this ale is doubly stronger than the average beer. Drink responsibly.

More than 300 people voted online and another 100 at the brewpub to decide the first high proof beer we brew. And the winning style is the Double IPA! Followed by the Russian Imperial Stout, Dopple Bock, Wee Heavy Scottish, and Barleywine. Thanks for everyone who voted! We appreciate your input on this very special and historic moment!
Double IPA Description: (name TBD by a special Olde Main server that won naming honors)
We took an innocent sweet little recipe for an IPA and took it to the gym. We then used muscle confusion workouts to beef it up to gratuitous levels of deliciosity. More malt and hop you say, you bet! Expect larger malt and hop profile that may put your tongue into an armbar submission hold. This Double IPA will not be for the feint of heart.
You can expect the Double IPA on tap at the restaurant and brewpub in about a month. Cheers to that!
